Encouraging Signs Re Euro Collapse

2011 has been a pretty bleak year for The Mrs Gruff and I and some good news at its end is most welcome. There may, in the words of the song, be trouble ahead, we may soon be humming a different tune and there may be teardrops to shed but the madness that it is the EU cannot go on and the music will have to be faced sooner or later. The news that ministers may be 'considering draconian plans' to deal with the collapse of the Euro is as welcome as the first sign of spring.

Slowly But Surely ... Eventually

'Slowly but surely', and 'eventually', we will do it, legally or illegally, peacefully or violently. The power is ours, the law is ours and we will take it back from those who have stolen it, and hold the guilty to account.

Old Mother Gruff (deceased) told me long ago that even dictators need the consent of the governed and I smiled when I heard Roger Hayes repeat her imparted wisdom.

All we need to do is withdraw our consent and say no more and no further.

Addendum: I've been wondering for a while why we cannot create our own banks but being a bear of very little brain I have hitherto consoled myself with the thought that I am too stupid to understand the complexities of banking. I'm delighted to learn that others not so stupid have had the same thoughts. Perhaps we'll see the return of mutual societies.

Let Them Eat Brioche

While I agree, in part, with his comments on lifestyles and spending (Mrs Gruff and I have been feeding ourselves for the past year on first £25.00 and now, since mid June, on £10.00 per week - for both of us.) I cannot help observing that although the podgy John Glen, MP for Salisbury, may not have the 'right stuff' of his astronaut namesake he is certainly living on another planet. It can do the revolution no harm that a clearly well-fed member of a party led by equally podgy, expensively educated, over-promoted and over-privileged mediocrities feels that those who pay his bills are to be faulted for aspiring to ape his all too obviously self-indulgent example.

The only reason for allowing the pompous arrogant bastard to grow any fatter at our expense is for the greater pleasure to be had when his fat head sits on a spike above London Bridge.

Tom MacInnes makes a point that I've made many times over many years: A job that pays less than a living is not worth doing. It ought to be obvious to all that everyone needs a living and no one needs a job except to obtain a living, which seems easy enough to grasp. The haves have, however, throughout history been seemingly unable to grasp that when those who live well at the expense of the have nots state openly and arrogantly that the latter should be content with having less revolution is probably unavoidable, which, from time to time, is no bad thing.

Which give me an excuse for a song:

'In their sties with all their backing
They don't care what goes on around
'
A damned good whacking indeed!

Eugenics: What's The Objection?

No one in that clip can be given any credit, certainly not the presenter, who seems to be at least as inadequate as his victim, but the point of posting it is that it supports my belief that some sort of eugenicist policy is now necessary. Perhaps it's nothing more than crude prejudice founded on a chronic intellectual deficit but I can see no purpose whatsoever to that young man's existence, nor that of the young woman sitting beside him, who has apparently decided that he is a fitting mate and father of a child, or children, she has already borne or will bear. Can anyone seriously doubt that he is nothing more than a source of irritation, annoyance, trouble, pain or harm to almost everyone he has dealings with, and she little if at all better? Can anyone say with honesty that they do not doubt his economic activity, and hers, is defined not as a net contribution but as the cost of those who are paid, or work unpaid, to manage his life, and hers, to deal with the problems he and she create, to repair, often imperfectly, the damage they do, the harm they cause and the suffering they inflict in their degraded and barbarous condition? Would it not have been better for them and us had they not been born?

I am mindful of the extremes to which eugenics have been taken but I can see no objection, for the common good, now and in future, to the judicious application of selective sterilisation.

As an aside, that is one of the reasons why I do not own a television set.

Laugh? I Umm

This, believe it or not, is a government minister:

The best that can be said for that is that she was prevailed upon to fill in, perhaps aware that, her position being entirely attributable to an electoral fluke, she is unlikely to go any further in politics.

Hokum Ho Hum

While I understand that this is 'news' it's hardly new and while drugs and kinky sex have always excited the muck rakers and mischief makers of the dead tree press we have surely grown up sufficiently that we the people are no longer titivated by 'revelations' of the same, even if they are described as SHOCKING, so why bother reporting such goings on? We are now some years past the time when unconventional leisure activities brought down governments and even were things otherwise what good could come of regime change, given that those most likely to replace the disgraced are of their ilk?

There's nothing to see here citizen.

Vicarious Pleasures

I can't afford to visit a dentist, even as an NHS patient, and I need to, but I can at least take comfort from the knowledge that foreigners are given free dental treatment thanks to the money extorted with menaces from me by those supposed to be working in my interests. I'm also comforted by the knowledge that my money is helping foreigners to compete in a labour market that has not provided a job for me, and to obtain benefits here that are denied to me. It's particularly pleasing that Mrs Gruff pays three and a half times and nine times our food budget in council tax and income tax respectively per month.

Knowing that others enjoy at our expense a lifestyle Mrs Gruff and I cannot afford for ourselves means that our hitherto self-centred lives are now so much more rewarding.

If Only

As last year, a prolonged period of machine gun fire and explosions coming from the green brought a brief moment of untrammelled joy, until I remembered that this is Lytham's 'Wartime Weekend', when those who, I suspect, have never performed any sort of military service dress up in the uniforms of their grandfathers and play square-jawed conquering heroes before a brain-dead gawping crowd (the very people who will cower beneath their beds when the real machine gunning starts), and not the revolution. If those who spend so much time, effort and money attempting to recreate the feats of their forefathers concentrated instead on preserving the legacy our forefathers bequeathed to us we might not be in the mess we are.

'The Police' Are The Public

Those clowns have clearly forgotten that, unless they think Sir Robert Peel intended that they should be The Great British Public (1) and we merely their servants, to do precisely as we are ordered immediately we are ordered, whether or not the law allows.

People do what they can and those who can only make a bloody nuisance of themselves at the expense of the public do so. Too often 'The Police' leave us feeling that all they can do is just that and no more. We need to feel that we are policed - who in his right mind would feel comfortable knowing that his house might be burned to the ground at any time - but we need to know that those who police us understand that they are our servants, and not our masters, and police us with our consent and co-operation, which is what Sir Robert Peel intended, according to Wikipedia (2):

'Peelian Principles

The Peelian principles describe the philosophy that Robert Peel developed to define an ethical police force. The principles traditionally ascribed to Peel state that:

  • Every police officer should be issued a badge number, to assure accountability for his actions.
  • Whether the police are effective is not measured on the number of arrests, but on the lack of crime.
  • Above all else, an effective authority figure knows trust and accountability are paramount. Hence, Peel's most often quoted principle: The police are the public and the public are the police.
However, it has been suggested that Peel's list of principles was more likely authored by twentieth century policing scholars than by Peel himself; although Peel discussed the spirit of some of these principles in his speeches and other communications, researchers Lentz and Chaires found no proof that he ever actually compiled a formal list.[1]

Principles of policing
  1. The basic mission for which the police exist is to prevent crime and disorder.
  2. The ability of the police to perform their duties is dependent upon the public approval of police actions.
  3. Police must secure the willing co-operation of the public in voluntary observation of the law to be able to secure and maintain the respect of the public.
  4. The degree of co-operation of the public that can be secured diminishes proportionately to the necessity of the use of physical force.
  5. Police seek and preserve public favour not by catering to public opinion, but by constantly demonstrating absolute impartial service to the law.
  6. Police use physical force to the extent necessary to secure observance of the law or to restore order only when the exercise of persuasion, advice, and warning is found to be insufficient.
  7. Police, at all times, should maintain a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic tradition that the police are the public and the public are the police; the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full-time attention to duties which are incumbent upon every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence.
  8. Police should always direct their action strictly towards their functions, and never appear to usurp the powers of the judiciary.
  9. The test of police efficiency is the absence of crime and disorder, not the visible evidence of police action in dealing with it.[2]

There was a time when most people would willingly have gone to the assistance of a constable in difficulties, and been commended, rather than condemned, for doing so.  Those days, however, are long gone and although few would actually do harm to a constable many, surely, would like to see harm done to a good many of them.

London's Burning, and Leeds and Birmingham

An exaggeration but things are clearly getting out of hand and the trouble is spreading. Expect outbreaks in Liverpool, Bradford and Manchester within 24 hours, at most. Cameron and his arse licking clowns must be shitting themselves.

Politics, and blogging, are becoming interesting again.

On the bright side, BBC news crews have been the object of threats and intimidation.

Update at 23:40 BST: Reports on Radio 5 Live claim that the participants are tooling up and attacking people. One report claimed that 'youths' are carrying metal bars and machetes, another that a woman had been dragged from her car, which was subsequently set alight.

The [Dis]Hon Mark Menzies, MP (Fylde)

Not that one can expect anything more than betrayal from a Scotch carpetbagger representing an English seat in the British parliament. Having got his McSnout well and truly into our trough of truffles he isn't likely to do anything that might require him to return to his homeland and eat again the swill served for breakfast that is salted porridge, which is perhaps why Mr Menzies never asks awkward questions in the British parliament on behalf of his English constituents.

More From Pat Condell on Mohammedanism

The relentless advance of Mohammedanism in England, and the rest of Europe, began some time ago, as EURefendum points out.

Each and every concession to the proponents of Mohammedanism is one more step forwards for those who seek the subjugation and destruction of western civilisation, even while they benefit from it, and yet another step backwards for the descendants of those who built it. Each and every concession brings closer the day when we must decide whether to throw our hard won inheritance away, fall on our knees and beg for mercy, even while the swords fall on our necks, or stand up and defend what is ours so that our grandchildren may enjoy what was bequeathed to us. Unless those who are behaving like invaders start to behave like immigrants there will be bloodshed but that is not our fault; we have not struck the first blows.

From The Horse's Mouth

Few would disagree with this unequivocal statement of the fundamental democratic principle:

'In a modern democracy it is important that those who make the laws of the land should be elected by those to whom those laws apply. The House of Lords performs its work well but lacks sufficient democratic authority.'

Who made it?  None other than Nick Clegg.  From that it follows that he must favour withdrawal from the EU and the establishment of an English Parliament, with powers at least equal to those of Scotland's, mustn't it?

He really is an idiot.

On Free Trade

Thinking about free trade, I thought again of the repeal of the corn laws, as occasionally I do. The repeal of the corn laws was undoubtedly a good thing for grain merchants, millers, bakers and The Great British Public. It was a bad thing for those tenant farmers struggling to pay their rents each quarter day who relied on wheat for their income and a very bad thing for those they employed at a pittance who could not afford to journey with their families, on foot or by cart, to an industrial town in the hope of an unskilled factory job and a home in a building that was a slum when built.

Free trade is a good thing for traders and those who profit from supplying them, and a bad thing for everyone else.

Britain on The Brink

(We should not commit ourselves to 'free trade' obligations with those who sell a great deal more to us than they buy from us: That's very bad for the balance of payments - not to mention our own ability to produce - which has not been referred to by 'our' media or politicians for a very long time).

(Don't take any notice of Mr Bukovsky as he has a foreign accent, and they cannot be trusted. Just sleep on, 'citizen', you have nothing to fear from the unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats who are rapidly taking control of every aspect of your life and the technology to make it unbearable.)

Sadly the appearance and accents of the people who appeared in those videos have been the object of caricature and satirical parody for so long that the message they proclaim cannot but be ignored, at best, or lost, at worst, in the cacophonous derision of the soap watching (And dodging?) masses. Vladimir Bukovsky could have said 'my hovercraft is full of eels' or 'iz day nordern lie-in korrairkt for day Feenlunt Stairtion?' and have elicited the same response from the great British public.

Videos at YouTube are not enough. Those who seek to save England from British treason must be prepared to work at the constituency level, even on cold, wet and windy nights, to explain to voters that continuing to vote blindly for the parties that have created, perpetuate and exacerbate the mess we are in cannot possibly help us out of it. That isn't going to be easy.

When that fails, as it cannot but, we must be prepared for violence.

That isn't going to be easy.

Democracy Gone Wrong: Dele Ogun

Lawful Rebellion at Birkenhead County Court

We are governed and policed only with our consent. When police officers abuse the authority we vest in them, in order that they may serve us, and behave unlawfully they forfeit that consent. When police officers engage in acts of violence against us they invite violence against them in turn. 'The Police' need to understand that they have no God given monopoly on violence and we are under no obligation to obey them.

Cameron on AV

Whilst we need parliamentary reform urgently we do not need electoral reform of any sort, except in the matter of postal voting and eligibility to vote. There is nothing wrong with FPTP and the system does not need interfering with. The way to deprive idiots like Cameron of their majorities is to abolish the whip system and make MPs absolutely accountable to their constituents, not their party hierarchies.

The age of 'leaders', especially those who plague us with their visions, is past.

Cameron's Swansong?

Reading this and directed thence to this, and searching for heaven knows what, I came across this:

and thought of this:

And now the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend I'll say it clear
I'll state my case of which I'm certain

I've lived a life that's full
I travelled each and every highway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way

Regrets I've had a few
But then again too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption

I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way

Yes there were times I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out, I faced it all
And I stood tall and did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now as tears subside
I find it all so amusing

To think I did all that
And may I say not in a shy way
Oh no, oh no, not me
I did it my way

For what is a man what has he got
If not himself then he has not
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way

Yes it was my way

Surely Grooovey Dave's last rites cannot be long delayed? This isn't a sweary blog but will anyone condemn me for exclaiming, in exasperation, 'WHAT A FUCKING TWAT'.

What have the long suffering people of England done to deserve yet another Scotch Prime Minister who obviously does not know his arse from his McElbow?

More From Douglas Murray, and A Little from Mark Steyn

I have no idea what prompted the references to Churchill. Perhaps they are some sort of antipodean joke about 'Poms', which may well be the case since Mark Steyn is not averse to the occasional, not to say distinctly odd, disparaging remark about our green and pleasant land, parts of which have been made 'grey and dingy', most of which is still brilliantly verdant however. That notwithstanding he has made some pertinent observations on the evil twins of of cultural relativism and multiculturalism.

Here's Mr Steyn:

Phil Dolan: This Week's Little Piggy!

The Little Piggy Award (cue Little Piggy fanfare) is a recent innovation and I'm delighted to offer the very first Pox Anglorum Little Piggy of The Week award to pig faced Phil Dolan, who has taken the terminally acquiescent and complacent sheeple of South Somerset for a princely £569,000 of our 'Briddish' pounds.
Here's a picture of the trough grubbing, swill swilling, pig-faced tub of tax payers' lard and his humble sty:

Swill Dolan, this weeks Little Piggy, and sty.

I will be delighted to publish a confirmed report, with video, of the death squeals of Swill, preferably recorded as the bastard chokes and kicks while hanging by a piano wire noose from a lamp post.

Little Piggies.

May I humbly suggest that the following might make an amusing link whenever a report of some publicly funded trough grubber, or lesser apparatchik, prompts a blogger to vent his spleen?

'In their lives there's something lacking, what they want's a damned good whacking!'

Mark Menzies MP: What Bloody Use is He to The Tax Payers of Fylde?

From They Work For You:
Mark Menzies: May I join the Secretary of State in his condolences to the family of Phil Gallie, a fellow Ayrshireman and someone I knew well?  The Secretary of State mentioned the efforts to promote jobs. Will he update the House on what he has done to follow up on the visit of the vice-premier of China, in particular on the trade links between Scotland and China?
(See here for a record of the context in which the question was asked)

No mention there of trade links between The Fylde and China to promote jobs for the tax paying voters of Fylde, who pay so much to subsidise their MP's Scotch compatriots, and their MP. If the honourable gentleman is concerned about the overseas trade propsects of his former homeland he should consider standing for a Scotch seat and not waste the time of the voters of Fylde asking questions in the House of Commons that are not in their interests. That he was selected and elected to the constituency suggests that local Conservatives are less concerned with the constituency than they are with their relations with the organ grinders at head office, and the colour of the rosette the monkey of the moment wears.

Paisley Calls The English Kettle Black

That notorious geriatric bigot, Ian ('insult to my community') Paisley has again given gratuitous offence to the ever patient and unbelievably indulgent English, without seeming to understand that he has, ironically, insulted our 'community', in what is all too obviously a panicky response to the probability that the cosy constitutional arrangements by which the insular and fractious people of Northern Ireland have been enabled to live in English subsidised, murderous sectarian animosity will not be allowed to last for very much longer.

Paisley's disgraceful outburst occurred during the debate on the private members bill, the Legislation (Territorial Extent) Bill, tabled by Harriet Baldwin, the Conservative MP for West Worcestershire, although the MSM seems not to have thought it worth mentioning and left the matter to ePolitix.com to report.

I left the following comment, which was still awaiting moderation as I wrote this piece:
Paisley's nasty little Anglophobic tirade is only to be expected. He would do well to reflect, however, that the 'U'K is now very far from united and its continued existence at England's expense, and to the not inconsiderable disadvantage of the fifty million people who live here, merely to keep a million or so insular bigots of his ilk in the state to which they have long been accustomed is increasingly hard to justify.

The 'union' that protects the likes of Paisley exists in name only and its constitutional demise cannot be long delayed. He and his kind will then have the choice of trying to make a province in which more than four fifths of the economy depends upon the public sector, and which is still riven by sectarianism, into a viable independent state or accepting reunification with the Republic of Ireland. Should that eventuality come to pass Paisley's descendants will be citizens of a united Ireland and the people of England will have the last laugh on a nasty, narrow minded little man who has never known when to keep his mouth shut.

Here's to independence for England.

Need one say more?

Gruff thanks to Toque ('I'm Reading', 12/2/11) for the link to the item.

Post Script: It seems that I am more than a little out of date (not unusual) and owe Baron Bannside, of North Antrim in the County of Antrim, an apology. The relevant Anglophobic bigot in this instance is not the (ig)noble old rabble-rouser happily bearing the ancient English title of lord but his ignoble son, Ian Paisley Junior, who shows every indication of carrying on in the fashion of his father, although his career may not be quite as lengthy. It is amusing to consider his chances of a seat in the Dáil Éireann or Seanad Éireann and to wonder whether future historians will regard the aspiring dynasts as anything more than a minor footnote to the troubled story of a tiny and otherwise irrelevant province that was eventually absorbed by a small, impoverished country on the western edge of Europe.

Pat Condell on 'The Criminal Truth'

Pour Encourager Les Autres: Go Moslems!

Followers of the 'religion of peace' have reportedly issued a fatwa against the MP masquerading as the Home Secretary, the Rt Hon Theresa May. Gruff hopes that more are issued against other members of the House of Commons and that they are carried out. 'The Police' are said to be investigating. Should they experience difficulties in understanding this quirky Moslem custom Gruff would respectfully remind the gristle brained boys and girls in blue that they are required to show due deference to their Mohammedan masters and not to offend them in any way, which may explain why police officers run away whenever they are confronted by a peace loving, traffic cone throwing, insult chanting mob of them.

Mrs May may find that 'The Police', who are also reported as being too frightened of the dark to patrol after 20:00, are too frightened of Mohammed's murderous mobs to protect her. Let's hope so.

In another report the Moslem population of this green and pleasant land is expected to double to five and a half million within twenty years. The 'YouTubed' deaths by bomb, bullet, stoning or decapitation of a few of the Westminster rats might bring the others to their senses and would be in the best long-term interests of England.

In England's Green and Pleasant Land?

The right to express opinions that others may find obnoxious or repellant is a sine qua non for democracy and does not require the agreement of the Labour Party, the mob or 'The Police'. The ejection of the BNP candidate from the Oldham hustings should provoke shock and outrage in all who hold freedom of speech dear. Those who are not shocked or outraged should at least understand that dissent is no longer allowed and will be suppressed, with force if necessary.

The actions of 'The Police' in Oldham should make clear to those of the English public who have not understood before that police officers are now the enemies of liberty and the willing servants of tyranny. The forcible removal of Derek Adams by 'The Police' at the request of a political opponent, simply to prevent him from speaking, has broken again the contract between ourselves and the law, and ourselves and those who govern. Our ancient rights and liberties have been set at nought and with them our obligation to obey the law. When the time comes to overthrow the anti-democratic tyranny working to snuff out freedom in England we will have to deal with 'The Police'.

The BNP version of events is available here.
